Ed has called Sydney, Nova Scotia home for most of his life. His musical journey started at age seven on the organ, moving to the guitar at 14, and busking covers and originals by 16. By 1990, he launched his professional career as the bassist for the local group Realworld. This path led him to earn a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from St. Francis Xavier University and tour globally with numerous Maritime artists.
In 2022, he returned to his roots as a solo singer and guitarist. By incorporating a loop pedal, he builds a distinct, groove-driven foundation shaped by his decades as a bass player. Audiences frequently describe his sound as easy-listening, noting that his voice is exceptional and easy to listen to. Ed prides himself on maintaining absolute professionalism in everything he does. From prompt communication and polished appearance to perfect volume control and a highly recognizable, versatile song selection.
With 37 years of experience as a professional musician, Ed’s expertise spans bass, guitar, pedal steel, lap steel, and vocals. Beyond his solo work, he is a seasoned producer, arranger, songwriter, and studio session player.
