I have been playing music since I was 7 years old. That's 48 years! I started making a living through music in 1989, when I turned 19 and was able to perform in the bars. I am mostly known as a bass player and I have performed or recorded with many of the major musical acts from the maritimes such as Rita MacNeil, Ron Hynes, Jimmy Rankin, The Barra MacNeils, Gordie Sampson, Ashley MacIsaac, and many more.

My first instrument was guitar and I started writing songs when I was 14. In 1986, when I was 16, I began busking, playing a variety of originals and covers. I have a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from St. Francis Xavier University. For the last several years I have renewed my passion for singing and playing guitar. I have added a loop pedal to my performances. This adds a “groove” to the music that I developed through my experience as a bass player.

I consider myself to be a professional musician. This means covering all aspects of my musical performance in a professional way. From communications, appearance, sound quality, to song selection. I practice and rehearse daily to always have a polished sound, and pride myself on the consistent, high quality of my show. I have over one hundred songs in my repertoire and I can adapt my show for a restaurant, a pub, or a concert setting.

I often get comments when I play. People describe my sound as “easy listening” and I have heard, “they could listen to my voice all day.” They comment positively on the quality of my singing in particular, my appropriate use of volume, and my versatile song selection.

I am a single parent and performing and teaching music is my main source of income. I take my profession seriously and I would love to perform for you, your friends, and clients. Please contact me through the email button for bookings.
